Description
Providence Saint John's Health Center is seeking a fellowship-trained Surgical Oncologist to join a nationally recognized multidisciplinary cancer program affiliated with Saint John's Cancer Institute. This is an exceptional opportunity for a physician who is passionate about clinical excellence, education, research, and future program leadership.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical oncology and general surgery care while collaborating closely with medical oncology, radiation oncology, gastroenterology, radiology, pathology, and research teams. Candidates with expertise in gastrointestinal malignancies, including hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB), gastric, and colorectal cancers, are highly desired.
This position offers a blend of clinical practice, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, academic involvement, and translational research within an innovative and collaborative environment.
Position Details:
- Join a highly respected multidisciplinary cancer program affiliated with Saint John's Cancer Institute
- Fellowship training in Surgical Oncology required (Society of Surgical Oncology fellowship or equivalent)
- Robotic and minimally invasive surgery preferred
- Opportunity to participate in clinical trials and translational research
- Strong referral network and established patient base
- Dedicated nurse triage support to optimize patient flow and access
- Typical clinic schedule of approximately 10-12 patients per day
- 30-minute new patient visits and 30-minute follow-up visits
- Call responsibilities approximately 1-2 times per month
- Opportunity to teach within an ACGME-approved training program
- Defined pathway to Program Director leadership within approximately two years
Qualifications
- Board Certified in General Surgery
- Fellowship-trained in Surgical Oncology through an SSO-approved or equivalent program
- Minimum of two years of experience serving as Graduate Medical Education faculty
- Program Director experience preferred but not required
- Eligible for California medical licensure
- Experience with robotic and minimally invasive surgical techniques preferred
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation range: $480,092 - $601,665 annually

The compensation amounts listed may include productivity or quality/service incentives, call pay, extra shift incentives, as applicable to the position. In addition, providers may have CME benefits available to them.
