| Job Summary | The University of Kentucky College of Medicine is a renowned location with prominent research programs and teaching. The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine supports the three missions of clinical care, research, and education. Research focuses on translational areas that integrate basic and clinical science. Educational activities include training of residents and fellows and leading courses for medical students. The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine is currently seeking a faculty member at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be appointed in the Department of Internal Medicine. We invite applications from scientists with Ph.D. degrees who will be expected to establish an independent, extramurally funded research program in an area relevant to pulmonary or critical care medicine and that complements existing activities within the division. Candidates will maintain an active research program with a focus on epidemiology of chronic respiratory diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), related chronic conditions, with possible extension to non-pulmonary conditions. The successful candidate will be expected to secure extramural funding, publish in peer-reviewed journals, mentor trainees and early-career researchers, and collaborate across clinical, public health, and research settings. Recruited faculty will be expected to establish an innovative, independent, and collaborative research program addressing significant and fundamental questions.
