Physical Therapist (PT) – Consultative Role
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Compensation: $100k–$120k + Travel, cell phone and internet stipends
Role Summary
We are seeking a Physical Therapist to support individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in a consultative, community-based setting. This role focuses on evaluations, functional assessments, and program support rather than traditional ongoing therapy. The ideal candidate enjoys working independently, partnering with interdisciplinary teams, and making meaningful recommendations that improve mobility, independence, and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations focusing on motor development, mobility, posture, and functional abilities.
- Assess the need for adaptive equipment and assistive technology (e.g., wheelchairs, orthotics, positioning devices).
- Develop detailed written reports and clinical recommendations to support individualized service planning.
- Review medical and therapy records to inform evaluations and treatment recommendations.
- Provide consultation and guidance to case managers, families, and service providers on mobility and functional independence strategies.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to support coordinated care planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with program and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in the State of California.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, across pediatric and/or adult populations.
- Strong evaluation, clinical reasoning, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible, community-based caseload.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary teams and families.
- Willing to travel locally to deliver care in home and community environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pediatrics, school-based settings, or complex diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, or neuromuscular conditions.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and durable medical equipment recommendations.
- Prior experience in a consultative or assessment-focused role.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
