- Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist (Full-Time or Part-Time)
Description
About The Back Clinic
The Back Clinic is a PT-owned outpatient practice that has served the Wilmington, Delaware community for over 40 years. We are known for one model of care, applied consistently: every session is one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist, in a private treatment room, with a plan built around the individual patient. No aides running exercise circuits, no therapist juggling three patients at once, no productivity quotas dictating what care looks like.
Our team includes specialists across pelvic floor, vestibular, TMJ, post-surgical, and orthopedic rehabilitation, and our facility includes private treatment rooms and a heated therapy pool. We track outcomes with objective measures and standardized tools because we believe clinical accountability is part of doing this work well. Pelvic health has been part of our care offering for years, and we are committed to keeping it as a core service for our community.
The Opportunity
We are hiring a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist to re-establish and lead our pelvic health service line, full-time or part-time. You'll step into an established reputation, an existing referral base of patients and physicians who know us for this care, dedicated private treatment rooms suited to sensitive work, and a multidisciplinary team to co-treat and consult with on orthopedic, post-surgical, and pregnancy-related comorbidities. There's meaningful room to put your own stamp on the program — community outreach, prenatal and postpartum offerings, continuing education focus areas — within a clinical model that already protects the time and privacy this work requires.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate and treat the full range of pelvic health conditions, including urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain and dyspareunia, prenatal and postpartum care, and post-surgical pelvic rehabilitation
- Build individualized plans of care using manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic exercise, and patient education
- Track patient progress with objective outcome measures and adjust care accordingly
- Partner with referring providers (OB/GYN, urology, colorectal, primary care) and our internal team on co-managed cases
- Help shape how we grow pelvic health at the clinic — referral relationships, community education, and program development
What We Offer
- A practice model that protects your time with patients — one-on-one care, private rooms, no double-booking
- Compensation commensurate with experience, plus full-time benefits (full-time roles)
- Continuing education support — we want our therapists adding to their specialization, not getting away from it
- Mentorship and peer learning across a multidisciplinary specialist team
- Clinical autonomy with the backing of a 40-year-old, PT-owned practice
- Flexible full-time or part-time scheduling
Location & Schedule
5550 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808
Clinic hours: Mon–Thu 7:30 AM – 7:00 PM, Fri 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Licensed Physical Therapist in Delaware (DPT or equivalent), or actively pursuing DE licensure
- Pelvic floor training through coursework (e.g., Herman & Wallace, APTA Pelvic Health) and/or supervised clinical experience
- Strong manual therapy skills and clinical reasoning
- Comfort and skill in discussing sensitive topics with patients, and a patient-centered communication style
- Confidence working independently as the clinic's pelvic health specialist, with support from a multidisciplinary team for orthopedic and post-surgical co-management
Nice to Have
- Background in outpatient orthopedics in addition to pelvic health
- Advanced certifications (PRPC, WCS, or similar) or significant continuing education in pelvic health
- Interest in helping rebuild and grow a pelvic health program — community outreach, referral development, prenatal/postpartum programming
