ECU Health Physicians, Maynard Children's Hospital, and the Department of Pediatrics at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville are seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Pediatric Pulmonologist with Sleep Medicine training to join their expanding Division of Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine.
From asthma to cystic fibrosis and sleep apnea, Maynard Children’s Hospital offers pulmonology care for infants and children with both short-term and chronic respiratory problems.
Job Highlights include:
- Employment by ECU Health Physicians
- Hospital privileges at ECU Health's Maynard Children's Hospital, a state-of-the-art 142-bed children's hospital with a 71-bed Level IV NICU, 20 pediatric subspecialties, and a 29-county referral network
- Established pediatric pulmonology division of four physicians supported by respiratory therapists, nutritionists, social work, and a dedicated multidisciplinary care team
- Blend of inpatient and outpatient clinical practice with bronchoscopy support and access to comprehensive pediatric services, including PICU, NICU, pediatric anesthesia, hospitalists, and transitional care
- Monday – Friday 8am-5pm clinic with rotating inpatient schedule
- Dedicated on-site laboratory and clinical support team including social worker, nutritionist, and mental health counseling within the specialty clinic
- Full-service sleep laboratory with pediatric testing capabilities, including overnight polysomnography and multiple sleep latency testing

The James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital, located on the campus of ECU Health Medical Center, is designed to care for children from newborns to 18 years of age (and up to 21 years of age if patient is being followed by a pediatric physician). The 206,499 square foot 198-bed facility provides highly specialized services including a pediatric intensive care (PICU), neonatal intensive care (NICU), kids immunosuppressed specialty unit (KISU), specialty care nursery, mother-baby unit, pediatric ECMO services, 24/7 children’s emergency department, acute dialysis and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), pediatric radiology, pediatric rehabilitation, general surgery, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, and craniofacial surgery.
