The surgical program at Cook Children’s is recognized for its breadth, depth, and highly collaborative culture. The incoming surgeon will join a highperforming interdisciplinary team that includes pediatric orthopedic surgeons, advanced practice providers, certified hand therapists, physical therapy specialists, psychology, social work, and child life services. The division performs thousands of orthopedic surgical cases annually and provides comprehensive care across multiple clinic and surgerycenter locations throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The team’s outreach strategy has cultivated strong relationships with pediatric care communities across North and West Texas.

Key Opportunity Highlights
- HighVolume surgical practice with robust demand for congenital and traumatic hand surgery, microsurgery, and brachial plexus/nerve reconstruction. Applicants with interest in complex upper extremity orthopedic surgery are also encouraged to apply.
- 17 StateoftheArt OR Suites supporting advanced pediatric procedures, including microsurgical capability and imageguided technology.
- OnSite Hand Therapy Program providing coordinated preoperative and postoperative rehabilitation for optimal functional outcomes.
- Collaborative Multidisciplinary Clinics supporting complex conditions such as brachial plexus injury, congenital limb differences, neuromuscular disorders, upperextremity trauma, cerebral palsy, and genetics.
- Education & Clinical Research Opportunities are available; but not required, including teaching residents and fellows, supported by campus IRB, grant writing resources, research nurses, and a dedicated PhD statistician.
- Led by CCHCS Hand Surgery Director, Dr. Pamela Sherman, collaborative research possibilities exist with The Orthopedic/Sports Medicine Motion Analysis Center, an upper extremity focused motion lab.

- The successful candidate will have completed: accredited Orthopedic or Plastic Surgery training and be ABOS board certified/board eligible in Orthopedic Surgery or Plastic Surgery. Must have or be eligible to obtain CAQ in hand surgery.
- Mini Fellowship in Brachial Plexus: For qualified candidates with an interest in nerve reconstruction and complex microsurgery, CCHCS will support the completion of additional fellowship training while employed full-time by the Cook Children's Physician Network.
