Description
MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper and the Department of Surgery at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University are seeking a Board certified or Board eligible, fellowship-trained mid-career (5-7 years post fellowship training), Surgical Oncologist to join our dynamic academic practice at a time of unprecedented growth and development within the division. The candidate will be able to qualify for faculty appointment at the Associate Professor level, commensurate with his/her level of experience.
The successful candidate must be a highly motivated individual with oncology interest and capability in all aspects of surgical oncology with emphasis on hepatobiliary, foregut/GI, melanoma and sarcoma. The candidate will work closely and collaborate with the departments of gastroenterology, medical oncology, and radiation oncology.
Cooper University Hospital, the clinical campus of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, is the leading provider of health services to Southern New Jersey. Cooper’s main hospital is in Camden, NJ, right across the river from Philadelphia. Cooper also has satellite offices in the surrounding suburbs, including Cherry Hill, Moorestown, Voorhees, and Washington Township with a surgery center based in Voorhees and Moorestown.
MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper supports nearly 125,000 patient visits annually treating all types of oncologic diseases. Today, MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper is one of the leading cancer centers in the region. In a state-of-the-art facility, over 400 clinicians, nurses, therapists, and technicians provide clinical excellence, compassionate care, and a collaborative, disease-site-specific approach to fighting cancer.
The General Surgery Division currently has 13 General Surgeons and 4 Advance Practice Providers. We are actively engaged in medical student teaching and training residents within the hospital. Opportunities are available for those interested in clinical/basic science research, especially in epigenetic and translational science, which is the focus of the laboratory.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a mid-career Surgical Oncologist to establish, lead, and grow an academic practice in Surgical Oncology.
