Epilepsy / EEG Neurology Opportunity
Tulane University School of Medicine | New Orleans & Metairie, Louisiana
The Department of Neurology at Tulane University School of Medicine is seeking an Epilepsy and EEG-trained neurologist to join its expanding academic neuroscience program. This position offers a strong balance of subspecialty epilepsy care, EEG interpretation, and involvement in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit across two major clinical sites within the LCMC Health system. It is an excellent opportunity for a neurologist interested in complex case management, academic collaboration, and meaningful clinical impact within a growing and dynamic program.
Position Overview
- Outpatient subspecialty practice focused on epilepsy care
- Participation in EEG interpretation, including ambulatory, inpatient, and home studies
- Rotating coverage within the EEG and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit call pool
- Clinical practice is split between East Jefferson Hospital and University Medical Center, New Orleans
- Academic appointment through Tulane University School of Medicine

- East Jefferson Hospital serves as the clinical home for Tulane University School of Medicine
- 420-bed, Joint Commission-accredited hospital and Louisiana's first Nurse Magnet facility
- Comprehensive inpatient neuroscience services, including a stroke center and neurocritical care
- University Medical Center New Orleans is a 446-bed academic and Level I trauma center
- Robust neuroscience services, including stroke, neurocritical care, expanding EMU, and general neurology consult services
Academic & Teaching Focus
- Active involvement in Tulane's academic neurology mission
- Collaboration with Tulane and LSU faculty across shared neuroscience programs
- Exposure to complex epilepsy cases and multidisciplinary care models
- Teaching opportunities with neurology residents and fellows
- Participation in program growth and service expansion
Candidate Profile
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
- Fellowship training in EEG and/or Epilepsy, with subspecialty board eligibility or certification
- Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Louisiana
