Company History
The Veterinary Medical Center was founded in 2018 and has continued to grow as a multidisciplinary specialty and emergency hospital. Within our hospital we also have a very busy general practice. What began as a vision to create a collaborative, high-level veterinary medical center has expanded into a large team of veterinarians, specialists, and support staff working together to provide advanced care for pets in the region. Over the years, the hospital has expanded its specialty services, invested in advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment, and developed a 24/7 emergency and critical care service. VMC also operates a fully stocked in-house animal blood bank and continues to add new specialty services as the hospital grows.
The Veterinary Medical Center is deeply involved in the community and works closely with Tampa General Hospital to provide trauma care for working dogs through the AeroMed Life Flight program. Our team is committed to giving back through community education seminars and partnerships with local animal shelters and 501(c)(3) rescue organizations. We also established the Colby Animal Foundation, our affiliated nonprofit organization, to help provide life-saving veterinary care for pets whose families are facing financial hardship and to advocate for animals in need.
