Each post is for 1 year pro rata. The starting date will be set at the choice of the successful candidate preferably in 2026 or early 2027. Posts are open to candidates who have completed or are within 3 months of completing their neurology CCT at the time of starting the fellowship. Part time applications are welcome. Working jointly across 1-2 UK sites is also welcome.
The candidate should:
in advance of the application, approach a named clinical UK MD supervisor of their choice, to jointly prepare their application, stating their personal development needs in MD, and the UK hospital(s) of their choice at which they wish to work for the fellowship.

It is expected that the MD training should be both broad and in depth. A small component of general neurology, and on call for general neurology, is optional. A previous research degree is desirable but not mandatory.
also submit a (ii) CV, and (iii) personal statement stating how a Post CCT Advanced Clinical Fellowship in MD will aid him/her in their future plans.
After submitting all 3 documents, candidates will be shortlisted. Selection will be by interview. After 12 months (if full time, or pro rata if part time), on successful completion of the components submitted, and appraisal, the ABN will provide a letter of completion of UK Post CCT Advanced Clinical Training Fellowship in MD.
Salary will attempt to match that of a final year Specialist Trainee. Funding for these posts is via separate generous donations from (i) Abbott and (ii) Parkinson’s UK to the ABN Movement Disorders Specialist Interest Group. The fellowship application process is identical and candidates should not state a preference.
Prospective candidates are invited to contact Dr Christopher Kobylecki, Chair ABN MD Specialist Interest Group (Christopher.Kobylecki@nca.nhs.uk), Professor Mike Samuel, Chair of ABN MD Advisory Group (m.samuel@nhs.net), or Dr Amit Batia, Chair ABN Education Committee (a.batla@ucl.ac.uk) for informal discussions.
