The Department of Neurosurgery at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is seeking a full-time dedicated Neuropsychologist to join our multidisciplinary Neurosurgery team in Hershey, PA. The ideal candidate will have the ability to provide specialized neuropsychological assessment and consultation for adult and geriatric patients undergoing neurosurgical evaluation and treatment. This role is integral to optimizing patient outcomes through cognitive assessment, surgical candidacy evaluations, and post-operative care planning and follow-up.
The Penn State Department of Neurosurgery consists of seven clinical divisions covering all the major subspecialty areas of neurosurgery and is the only academic neurosurgical practice in South Central PA.
This is a full-time position with an academic appointment to Penn State University commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care, a desire to pursue cutting-edge research, and a passion for education. The ability to work collaboratively is essential.
Position Highlights
- This role offers the opportunity to work with diverse patient populations and conduct comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for patients with brain tumors, hydrocephalus, epilepsy, movement disorders, and other neurosurgical conditions
- In this position the candidate will collaborate with other neuropsychologists, neurosurgeons, neurologists, rehabilitation specialists, and social workers to inform surgical planning and post-operative care and provide cognitive and emotional support for patients and families navigating complex diagnoses and treatment decisions.
- This role includes participation in multidisciplinary case conferences and contributions to clinical decision-making, documenting findings and recommendations in electronic medical records with clarity and timeliness, engaging in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to clinical research as appropriate.
- As an academic center and teaching hospital, there will be many opportunities to mentor and teach medical students, neurosurgery residents and fellows, as well as Psychology Interns in our APA and APPIC approved program, and Neuropsychology Fellows.

Requirements
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology with specialization in Neuropsychology.
- Completion of an APA-accredited Clinical Psychology internship and completion of a postdoctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology.
- Licensed or license-eligible as a clinical psychologist in Pennsylvania.
- Board certification or eligibility in Clinical Neuropsychology (ABPP-CN preferred).
- A track record of academic productivity and clinical excellence
