Description
Maine Veterinary Medical Center is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Oncology Coordinator to our team. At our Rarebreed clinic, you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. As part of our team, you'll work with the latest technology, and collaborate with a positive team to deliver the highest quality of care to the pet patients we all love.Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) is a VECCS level two certified Rarebreed practice that has full in-house laboratory capabilities, a fluoroscopy suite for interventional procedures, a helical 64-slice CT, MRI, respiratory ventilator, in-house telemetric monitoring, ultrasound and endoscopy. MVMC has well-staffed departments in Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Radiology, Rehab and Acupuncture and great team of emergency clinicians and criticalists to offer advanced services to a well-educated client base. https://mvmc.vet/
Oncology Coordinator
Maine Veterinary Medical Center in Scarborough, ME
$22-$26 per hour based on level of experience
Eligible for quarterly bonuses under Rarebreed's profit-sharing program
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide exceptional client service by demonstrating excellent client relations and compassionate communication with pet owners during what can often be a difficult time.
- Build and maintain strong rapport with both clients and the referring veterinary community to support a collaborative oncology care experience.
- Manage and maintain the oncology department's appointment schedule, ensuring efficient use of doctor time and smooth patient flow.
- Coordinate and respond to departmental scheduling requests through phone and email in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including thorough documentation of client communications.
- Review appointment histories and patient records to ensure all necessary information is complete, accurate, and up to date prior to visits.
- Coordinate with the oncology doctor and technical team to ensure appointments are properly prepared and scheduled appropriately for the patient's needs.
- Assist in facilitating communication between the oncology team, clients, and referring veterinarians to ensure continuity of care.
- Collect payment for services and assist clients with billing questions in a clear and supportive manner.
- Support the oncology department with additional administrative and coordination tasks as needed to maintain an organized and efficient workflow.

REQUIREMENTS
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a service, health, or veterinary industry
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a client service or customer-centric position, preference will be given to candidates with at least 1 year of experience in a veterinary hospital or emergency/specialty practice
- Technologically savvy
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
