Who we are:

Red River Animal Emergency Hospital & Referral Center is independently owned and has been serving North Dakota, Minnesota, and South Dakota communities for the past 20 years. We are a VECCS level 2 center and North Dakota’s only 24/7 emergency & specialty hospital, who currently has specialists in Critical Care, Oncology, Surgery, and Internal Medicine. Along with our specialists, we have 13 experienced emergency veterinarians backed by a great support staff and management team.

Having owners who work in our hospital and community gives our leadership team a great perspective on how to support our staff and to make sure a good work-life balance is provided. Our hospital owners and leadership team want our doctors to practice how they want and make sure you have all the support, equipment, and staff you need to run your department.

Our remodeled and expanded hospital has all the bells and whistles including a large ICU, 2 ER surgery suites, extensive in-house lab, bedside oxygen, multiple Snyder O2 units, 16 slice helical CT, advanced ultrasound and echo services, hemodialysis, hemoperfusion, and plasmapheresis capabilities, high flow nasal oxygen, mechanical ventilator, and our own blood bank. The specialty center addition has an oncology suite with hood room as well as a separate chemo suite for administration and housing of patients, GI/rhino/urinary scoping equipment, laparoscopy, 2 large surgery suites, and our digital x-ray system that include wireless DR plates for mobile/intraop use. Anything else our specialists require or need for their department, we will provide! 

 

Who you are:

We are seeking a driven Veterinary Oncologist to lead and expand our Oncology department at a time when specialty oncology care is deeply needed in our region. We’re looking for someone ready to step in, build on the strong foundation already in place, and continue growing our oncology services for our community. Our team has partnered with more than 100+ referral veterinary practices across North Dakota and surrounding states, providing education, collaboration, and support for shared patients. With the next closest veterinary oncologist approximately three hours away, our caseload is robust and continues to grow. We value sustainability and work-life balance, so no on-call is required (no after-hours or weekends). For specialists interested in a long-term stake, our owners also welcome discussions about joining the ownership group, offering a rare opportunity to help shape the future of a rapidly growing multi-specialty center.
